Mama June Shannon says her daughter, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, has giant plans for the long run—and strangely—they don’t involve a digicam group. The Mama June: Road to Redemption megastar admits that the Shannon family has “made a career” of appearing on TV—but she doesn’t see her daughter following the same trail.
Speaking to The Sun, Mama June defined that 16-year-old Alana is ready to start her ultimate 12 months of highschool next fall, and prefer many seniors, she’s focused on getting into college and looking into new career paths.
"She has been accepted into some colleges and she graduates high school next year," Mama June said of Alana—who made a name for herself when she first gave the impression on Toddlers & Tiaras more than a decade in the past.
Mama June famous that filming crews had adopted the family round for nearly Eleven years now, however she doesn’t see her youngest daughter making it her future.
"Granted, we've made a career out of it when it fell in our lap, but I don't see Alana doing reality TV at the age of 40," Mama June mentioned, including that her daughter “needs to go into a nursing program."
Reality TV has proved to be lucrative for the family. Alana reportedly earned $50,000 an episode to appear on TLC's Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Not too shabby for a teenager.
Despite being famous, Alana has been through a lot during her time in the spotlight. Her mother famously lost guardianship of her in 2019 after being arrested for possession of illegal substances. These days, Alana is legally overseen by her sister, Lauryn Shannon.
In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Mama June explained that despite the troubled relationship she has with her children, she hasn’t given up on making things right.
"It’s beating, like, a useless horse. For other folks so that you can move on, you’ve got to stop. … If you keep on living up to now, all you’re gonna do is stay taking a look again and you’re now not gonna see what’s in the front windshield."
"We see each other. We communicate. They know when they need me, I’m here."
