Misty May-Treanor was born on July 30th, 1977 in Los Angeles, California. She is a retired American professional beach volleyball player with a net worth of $6 million.
Misty is a three-time Olympic gold medalist, and as of August 2012, she was the most successful female beach volleyball player. She has 112 individual championship wins in domestic and international competitions. Misty began playing beach volleyball when she was just eight years of age. During her school days at the Newport Harbor High in Costa Mesa, California, she led her team to two indoor volleyball championships. Misty was named the best girls volleyball player in the US in 1994. She won numerous honors during her time with the Long Beach States.
May-Treanor started her professional volleyball career in 1999 and decided quickly that she preferred beach volleyball to standard volleyball. She and her first partner, Holly McPeak, came out of nowhere to qualify for the Olympics where they finished fifth. Misty then teamed up with Kerri Walsh. The two have since then dominated the beach volleyball circuit. They have won 101 straight matches and 18 tournaments in a row. She and Kerri were the gold medalists in beach volleyball during the 2004, 2008 and the 2012 Summer Olympics. Together they are considered to be the greatest beach volleyball team of all time. May-Treanor retired from competitive play on 8th August, 2012 after she and Kerri finished first in 2012 Summer Olympics games. They have won Gold Medals at two Olympics and three World Championships as well as a host of other honors.
She married the baseball player Matt Treanor in November 2004.
